Master Your Garden is a new, hands on, demonstration event designed to show you tips and techniques to apply to your home garden space, no matter what size it is.  We've designed this family oriented event to travel throughout Linn County to reach more communities. 

The Fall 2024 Faire will be held in front of the Brownsville Community Garden on Main Street in partnership with the Calapooia Food Alliance. 

Bring a soil sample for free soil texture, structure and pH tests

Hands-on Demonstrations

This is a hands-on gardening demonstration event.

  • Make a wildflower seed ball

  • See samples of herb, vegetable, flower, and native plants growing in containers

  • Unlock secrets of Oregon soil tilth, pH and lab testing

  • See worms in action with vermiculture and composting

  • Examine cool and not-so-cool garden bugs

  • Learn the benefits of cover cropping while your garden is dormant

  • Save your own seeds! Try tomato & artichoke seed saving

  • See and purchase native plants​​

We are able to bring this event to you free of charge due to the support of OSU Extension Linn County, Master Gardeners of LInn County, our community partnership with the Calapooia Food Alliance and Native Grounds Native Plant Nursery..

Enter to win Raffle Prizes.  Wonderful raffle prizes will be on display at the admission table where you can pick up free raffle tickets. Fill out your name/contact info on the ticket and insert your tickets in the jar in front of  the items you're interested in - we'll be pulling winning tickets throughout the day.

Community Garden

Master Your Garden Fall 2024 is being held next to the Brownsville Community Garden with the gracious support of the Calapooia Food Alliance that runs that manages the Community Garden.  You will be able to take a peek at what flowers, vegetables & herbs the community bed owners are growing, their creative plant structures and supports; their deer fencing solution!

Native Plant
Sale

Native plants are an important addition to any landscape - for wildlife and pollinators.  We will have a variety of beautiful Oregon native plants to see and purchase. Our native plant selection was grown in Brownsville, Oregon by Native Grounds Nursery.
