Abigail Lehner, UC Davis

Abigail Lehner is an entomologist based at the University of California, Davis. She graduated with her Masters in Biology in 2022, where she monitored bee communities at Pinnacles National Park over time. Abigail is now pursuing her Ph.D, and studies how blue orchard mason bees are impacted by global change. Abigail aims to make information about pollinators accessible to everyone and creates educational content on TikTok and Instagram under the username 'entomologyabby'. In her spare time Abigail can be found reading books, trying local restaurants, weight lifting, or traveling with her husband.

Houdini Fly Management

Abigail is particularly interested in how the mason bee populations could be affected by the introduction of the non-native Houdini Fly. While a control for the houdini fly does not yet exist, Abigail will share research findings as well as some best management practices that may help with Houdini Fly mitigation.
